 The rumors of the Ultraportable Mac notebook were proven true by Steve Jobs at Macworld Expo 2008. The Apple CEO revealed how thin the notebook was by pulling it out of a standard-sized manila office envelope.
The Macbook Air will come equiped with a 13.3 inch widescreen display. The LED backlit display delivers 1280 x 800 resolution and also conserves battery life. It sports a full-sized, illuminated keyboard. The rumors of the trackpad having multi-touch technology was also proven true. The Macbook Air will have multi-touch similar to the iPhone so you can swipe, rotate, pinch, or zoom with ease. This ultraportable notebook is only three quarters of an inch thick and weighs only 3 pounds. The Macbook Air features an Intel Core 2 Duo processor up to 1.8GHz, wireless 802.11 and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR wireless technologies.
Another interesting announcement that Apple made at Macworld is Apple's new involvement in the online movie rental industry. Jobs revealed that Apple has teamed with all six major movie studios to offer newly released movies for rent on iTunes. The six studios include Universal, Paramount, Walt Disney, Sony, 20th Century Fox, and Warner Brothers.
